My artwork focuses on documenting, discovering, inspiring, and learning from woman of the land.  Past and present is layered into the work with ideas on ranching, farming, hunting, sustainability, water, geology, ancestry, history, and identity. Large scale mixed media drawings, paintings, and photographs are visually inspired by woman of the land of the Gunnison Valley.  These present day visuals of land and woman create a space for a new narrative. Using natural materials such as soil, ash, and collected organic materials to create paint, value, and add texture to my artwork I am directly working from the earth.  The artwork merges history, every day, personal memoirs, the land and local culture to create a visual biography of a place and people.
